Description
Since the 1960's a still thriving back-to-the-land community in the Sierra Foothills has fought off corporate Goliaths intent on environmental devastation. Now the next generation is fighting against climate-driven wildfires. These 60 years of sustainability were made possible through the persistence of hope and their shared ethos, which they used to collectively stitch an 83-foot tapestry that tells their story. Clips from the 70-minute documentary will contextualize and make vivid this remarkable success.

In thick embroidered stitches, a wildfire crew in yellow works a hillside: one man speaks into a radio beside a red truck, others cut a line through the brush, and a hose arcs water toward a wall of orange flame under rolling gray smoke.Jeanne C. Finley, A Radical Thread, Recorded Presentation
