Project

aquí todo está vivo

A huge projection fills a dark room with green: river water and dense leaves behind an orange building, overlaid with glowing interlocking circles and a dark vertical panel at the center, as if the forest were being read through a lens.
Three images side by side: a pink wall painted with a jaguar and a coiled spotted serpent under a blue sky; dogs wading a muddy brown river beneath a tangle of mangrove roots; a sliver of mangrove glowing deep red and orange.

Description
A video by Suné Woods made after her 2024 visit to Coquí, on Colombia’s Gulf of Tribugá, where she observed humpback whale biopsies alongside marine ecologist Dr. Natalia Botero-Acosta. Centering the Afro-Colombian and Indigenous knowledge of the region, the work asks what it means to learn from other species.
